Introduced to the United States through Winebow imports, Lapostolle’s Pisco line includes Pisco Blanco and Pisco XO

NEW YORK, NY (September 28, 2022) – World-renowned family-run luxury Chilean brand, Lapostolle, is pleased to announce the launch of its first line of pisco which includes two unique expressions, Pisco Blanco and Pisco XO. The newly launched spirits are now available in the United States through Winebow Imports.

Piscos de Lapostolle were created in honor of Jean Baptiste Lapostolle, who founded the famous fruit liqueur distillery, Lapostolle, over 195 years ago in the small French village of Neauphle-le-Château. The distillery gained an outstanding reputation and later became the creator of the iconic Grand Marnier brand. Lapostolle’s legacy extended to the New World when sixth generation Alexandra Marnier Lapostolle and her husband Cyril de Bournet established the prestigious Lapostolle winery in 1994 in Chile’s Apalta Valley. With the launch of the two piscos, the Lapostolle family, led by Charles de Bournet, seventh generation, is delighted to embark on a new adventure that honors its heritage by producing world-class wines and spirits, French by essence and Chilean by birth. . .

“We created our new line of pisco to honor the origins of our family’s heritage. Lapostolle established its name as the most respected and pioneering wine and spirits producer in 1827 starting with the distillery of my late ancestor,” said de Bournet, CEO of Domaines Bournet-Lapostolle. “It was a natural decision to further develop our brand by creating these two expressions of pisco that reflect the exceptional terroir of Chile.”

Lapostolle Pisco Blanco and Pisco XO use the most daring and aromatic Muscat grape varieties, Muscat Rose (Rosado) and Muscat d’Alexandrie, whose aromas and textures complement each other perfectly. The grapes come exclusively from the Elqui and Limari valleys, located in the northern part of Chile, maximizing the complexity of the raw material for distillation, then grown on traditional Spanish “parrones” from altitudes, soils and different microclimates.

“Our goal was to create a high-quality spirit that reflects our generations of winemaking and distilling expertise,” de Bournet continued. “The distillation process was adapted from the same method used to create Cognac. We imported the same state-of-the-art copper still and produced our pisco from small batches of wine. The result is an exceptional alcohol that preserves the aromas of the Muscat grape.

The Pisco Blanco is crystalline in color, with subtle aromas of lemongrass, tangerine zest and white fruits. On the palate it has a velvety texture, with herbaceous and floral notes, and a spicy finish.

Pisco XO is a bright amber color with coppery red undertones. On the nose, it is fine and delicate with floral and fruity notes. It is then followed by a round and silky mouthfeel for a full-bodied and aromatic finish with light hints of gingerbread. Pisco XO is aged for six years in French oak barrels.

Pisco Blanco ($35) and Pisco XO ($45) are available now through Winebow Imports.
